About Me

Who: My Name is Su. That’s not a typo- no e.

What: I am a Tae Kwon Do Black Belt.

Where: I live in the Midwestern part of the United States.

When: I achieved my black belt in my early forties.

Why: I have always been interested in all aspects of self defense.

This picture was taken from our back yard. This part of the country can be peaceful and beautiful. A few years ago a serial killer abducted, raped and tortured at least two young women in this area, one he took from her home in front of her children.

It can happen anywhere, even where you feel safest. It can happen when you’re vacationing at your favorite get-away spot (this is ours).

Many hikers have been kidnapped on well traveled trails, never to be seen alive again.

I’ve always known that I would rather be shot and/or killed than to be abducted with its subsequent “treatment” and death. But there are a lot of extenuating circumstances to every situation.

I believe that women's self defense, well anyone's actually, starts with awareness. Learn to be aware at all times- make it a habit.

Things can get complicated when you are caring for others as well, children, elderly family and friends. As women we are often in this situation- but, no worries we can do it!

In this website I have tried to cover every aspect of women’s self defense I can possibly think of. Watching the news, more ideas come to me almost daily. Please let me know if you think of anything I have not reported on. I apprciate your comments and continued support!

About This Site

In the past I had tried to create a web site about self defense, but beyond registering a domain name and posting a page I was lost. I didn’t know how to be found and bring in traffic. I didn’t understand keywords, titles, descriptions and headlines.

I was clueless and didn’t know where to get the information, other than all the books I bought: Web-sites, web pages and copy writing for “Dummies”. Good books, yes, but the web changes constantly and by the time the books were published the rules changed.

Then I found out about SBI: Site Build It. It’s all there. Not only a full service web host, but step-by-step instructions on how to create your own site. Then they’ll show you how to make money with your site; in as many diverse ways as possible.

This isn’t a get rich quick scheme. Your going to work at it, following the detailed instructions. The more time you can spend on it, the faster you will reap the monetary benefits.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my job! But I would like an additional income, who wouldn’t! Even the most stable of jobs can be gone tomorrow, as we see in the news every day. I wouldn’t mind retiring early, doing some traveling while our health is still good.

Traveling is another reason this is the perfect income. By selling advertising space, using affiliate programs and selling e-goods, the site will bring in it own paycheck with out your constant monitoring- while your doing “fun” things. If you have physical items or a service to sell this will work for you also.
