Chest Pressure Points

Collar Bone

Old style martial arts favored the collar bone or clavicle as one of the chest pressure points.

The collar bone is the bone that runs from the base of the throat out and up to the shoulder. Breaking this bone could be disabling, although difficult against a larger attacker.

If the attacker is the same size or smaller than you, a hammer fist or knife hand strike downward as forceful as possible would most likely do the job incapacitating him.

Solar Plexus

The term solar plexus represents the area in the center of the chest, below the breast bone where the ribs part. The way in which this area is struck can produce simple pain to serious injury.

A moderate blow can knock the wind out of the attacker by shocking the diaphragm while causing pain. A straight blow can be delivered by a fist or extended knuckle. A side kick would be effective here, while also knocking the assailant back.

This is also an excellent elbow target if someone grabbed you from behind. I would grasp the hand of the striking elbow with my other hand, using the strength of both arms and my upper body while twisting to delivering the point of my elbow into the solar plexus.

If the strike were at an upward angle, along with a lot of pain, could deliver a referral shock to vital organs, even causing injury to said organs.
