The ear pressure point can be effective for women's self defense- if she can reach it.
If the attacker were behind me and close, I might throw a wild hammer fist or elbow strike hoping to hit any head target. The ear would be an acceptable contact.
If in front, a knife hand or hammer fist would be effective if you could reach.
Of course injury to the attacker's hearing could result, temporary or permanent. That would have to be a powerful blow.
Directly behind the ear lobe there is a hollow spot. Pain can be affected when pressure is applied by grinding with your thumbs or knuckle here. Obviously you are pretty close here.
Let’s hope you never get this close, but biting an ear could be quite effective.
If you’re in this close, a great partner to this technique would be a knee to the groin. Or when he backs off a little, perhaps feed him some elbow- forward and back.
This method may not incapacitate an attacker as much as aggravate him, so remember the next move as soon as his grip is loosened-RUN.
The ear pressure point would be an even safer target if you had an object with some length to it, i.e. baseball bat. Of course at this point one must consider comparable use of force and fear of one's life, etc. But if large perpetrator was threatening you, you would need to move fast; you wouldn't want him to get the bat away from you. Nor would you want to not hit him hard enough to stun him long enough to let you get away.
This also would be a great kubotan target; but again only under real self defense situations, because this could be lethal.
