If you think/realize this kit is not robust enough, you may want to have a Bug Out Bag in your car trunk. I hope you don't have to "get out of town" that fast, we all watch TV- or at least most of us.
This mini container will fit in your pocket or purse, glove box or backpack. It can come in handy for non-emergent situations also.
The containers for such kits could be an Altoids tin, or a small tobacco tin. Although another waterproof material could also be used, the reflective surface of the interior tin lids can help eliminate the additional need for a signaling mirror.
This list is a conglomeration of lists made by survivalists and generously shared. Here are some of the suggested items:- Razor blades
- Water purification tablet
- Tinder Tabs
- Keychain light
- 20 lb. Fishing line
- Lg Fishing hook
- Safety pins
- Wire Survival Saw
- Button compass
- Duct Tape, folded
- Teflon tube
- Twisted nylon line
- Sewing needles
- H.D. sewing thread
- H.D. Aluminum Foil
- Flint
- H.D. Ziplock sandwich bags
- Signaling mirror
- Magnifying glass
A large part of the challenge/fun is packing the items as small as possible. You want to get the most of the valuable real-estate found in the mini survival kits.
