Rape Aggression Defense

Rape Aggression Defense was founded by in 1989 by Lawrence N. Nadeau. Mr. Nadeau is an ex-marine military police. Once he was honorably discharged from the marines he served as a police officer until 1998. He holds a 3rd degree Black Belt in Hapkido.

Today R.A.D. is a nationally recognized alliance of self defense instructors dedicated to enhancing defensive techniques for women and children as they developed their ability to manage aggressive and violent behavior.

The basic course has its foundations in education and awareness. Suitable for women of all ages the course includes lecture, discussion and self defense techniques. The course ranges from nine to twelve hours in length, depending on the instructor. Instructor level certification requires three days.

Over 300,000 women have taken R.A.D. across the United States and Canada. It has over 7000 instructors. Many women make it a mother/daughter event for a great bonding experience.

R.A.D. has a free lifetime return and practice policy that is honored throughout the United States and Canada.

R.A.D. has a course on Aerosol Defense Options. This course teaches the most practical methods for accessing and deploying the most effective aerosol sprays.

The R.A.D. Keychain Defense Options teaches realistic use of the kubotan keychain.

Rape Aggression Defense teaches women and girls how to utilize a man’s weakness to their advantage. Most of all though, this course teaches how to stay aware of your surroundings and how to hopefully avoid having to use the physical skills they teach.But if you do need them, they are relatively easy to learn and easy to retain.
