Self Defense Weapons

There are a lot of self defense weapons and aides out there. Will having one or more of them help keep you safer? Will you be prepared to use it if the time comes?

This is something you need to decide for yourself. I have known women who carry tasers. and they seem like they could be effective if you were close enough to the attacker.

Of course if you’re that close and the attacker is quick, he could get it away from you and use it on you- not the desired outcome!

The Kubotan keychain is a great self defense weapon. It has a comforting feel in your hand as you find your way to your car. It could be helpful at close range, without the potential threat of someone using it again you should you lose your grip on it.

With mace or pepper spray you would need to be carrying in your hand when needed and fairly close range for accuracy. It would help you if it’s not floating around in the black hole of the bottom of your purse!

Then, of course, there are self defense guns.

I would not carry a gun unless I was a fair marksman. Before you carry a gun you would need to make the decision in advance that you would use it if necessary. You would need to be able to make a critical judgment quickly that the situation warranted deadly force. Never point it at an attacker as a bluff.

I would recommend a personal alarm for anyone. This cold be helpfully without the risk of it being used against you.

A portable air pressure alarm is a great safety device when traveling. It will alarm if a window or door is opened in a room you are staying in.

Women who train in sword fighting develop quick responses to danger and confidence to defend themselves in any situation. Check out the Chinese Swords Guide for more information.
